FestivalSpotlight Halloween Music Festivals Halloween is hands down one of my favorite holidays, the season is winding down and what better time to hit the road and catch a music festival. Here’s a couple of music festivals that are close enough for the drive and pack a lot of band for the buck. 30 TYBEE BEACHCOMBER | OCT 2016 By Mike Manitta Voodoo Music & Arts Experience- New Orleans, LA Commonly referred to as Voodoo Fest, this festival brings together music, art and community while boasting everything New Orleans has to offer for Halloween. Held in City Park, it features local New Orleans cuisine as well art installations and 65 bands over three days. This year’s lineup includes Tool, Arcade Fire, The Weekend, Band of Horses and Cage the Elephant, just to name a few. Everyone I have spoken to that has attended raves about this festival. For further information check out the website at voodoofestival.com. Suwannee Hulaween- Live Oak, Fl The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is a well known venue for festival goers in our area. In under four hours you can arrive to enjoy all the park has to offer. Nestled along the Suwannee River, this is hands down one of my favorite places to see music. Multiple Stages, a haunted forest and even amusement park rides, these people have everything you need once you arrive. Featuring three nights of The String Cheese Incident, this year’s lineup also includes My Morning Jacket, STS9, as well as a pre-party hosted by Umphrey’s McGee and dozens and dozens of others. Of course there’s a costume theme and all of the info can be found at suwaneehulaween.com.
