Social Seens... Dunedin Historical Museum Gala For its inaugural fundraiser of “Cocktails from Another Era,” the Dunedin Historical Museum invited guests to visit the 1960s days of Camelot and Woodstock. Dressed in the fashions of that memorable decade, attendees were smooth and in the groove for this evening benefit of vintage-themed music, cars, food and cocktails. 160 TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE | NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016 Photography by Noraa Photography by Noraa Point of Light Awards The Lighthouse of Pinellas held its 10th Annual Point of Light Awards luncheon at the Hilton St. Petersburg Carillon Park. The Lighthouse’s mission is to advance the independence and quality of life for individuals in Pinellas County who are blind or visually impaired. Since 1956, The Lighthouse has been providing comprehensive vision rehabilitation services for individuals of all ages. Former news anchor John Wilson was thanked by Michael Kline, the husband of the event’s chair Joan Kline, for serving as The Lighthouse of Pinellas program’s master of ceremonies. Dr. Louis Michaelos and his wife Mary were honored that Michael received the Lighthouse’s Beacon of Light Award in recognition of the many years of dedication to his Opthalmologic patients and other civic, medical and religious organizations. Dr. Ronald Tucker, who was given the Volunteer Award for his services to the Lighthouse and the community, was proud to have his daughters Allison and Amanda and his wife Sarah with him. Dunedin Historical Museum board president Eric Houghton and his wife Rebecca enjoyed the flashback to the 1960s. Former Dunedin City Commissioner Ron Barnette and his wife Candy, a Museum board member and a member of the Gala committee, were attired as James Bond and First Lady Jackie Kennedy. Linda Boosinger and Rika Freeman, both of whom are Museum board members who served on the Gala committee, were “groovy” in their ‘60s’ outfits.
