Photography by Michael Blitch Dancing with the Stars Julie Weintraub’s Hands Across the Bay held its seventh annual “Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars” fundraiser, that is patterned after the popular television show where celebrities are partnered with professional dancers. The dinner and onstage dance competition in Tampa raised funds for A Kid’s Place of Tampa Bay, the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, the Pinellas Safe Harbor, The Kimberly Home and Julie’s charity, Hands Across the Bay. This year’s theme was “An Enchanted Garden,” and it raised a record-breaking amount of funds for the charities. NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016 | TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE 169 Michael Clayton, a former Tampa Bay Buccaneer and a co-host of CBS Channel 10’s Great Day Tampa Bay, was cheered on by his wife Tina and their children Michael and Michaela during the dance competition. Elif and Dr. Joe Fitzgerald of the PureLife Medi-Spa in Largo were major sponsors of this fundraiser that featured their employee Donna Gonzalez in the onstage dance competition. Steve and Julie Weintraub of the Gold and Diamond Source in Clearwater have hosted the popular “Tampa Bay’s Dancing with the Stars” fundraiser for seven years.
