Photography by Gram and Noraa Florida Hospital Starlight Gala “An Evening in Chicago,” the Windy City, was the theme of this year’s fundraiser for the Florida Hospital West Region Florida Foundation. To make the evening complete, the legendary group of musicians known as Chicago played some of their 47 gold and platinum hit songs that earned them induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The event was chaired by Kay Meyer, who was assisted by Nancy Morrison as vice chair. The evening’s emcees were ABC television’s Lissette Campos and Jamison Uhler. 170 TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE | NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016 Amber Uhler thanked her husband Jamison, a lead anchor on ABC Action News, for being the high bidder for the live auction’s week in Tuscany. Fox 13 television news Anchor Linda Hurtado and her husband Jorge Figueredo lent their support to this wonderful evening of music and fundraising to benefit Florida Hospital Foundation. Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn and his wife Dr. Catherine Lynch were pleased that the evening’s proceeds will provide patient care programs and services, including free screening mammograms for the underserved, and for improving infrastructure. Drs. Pallavi and Kiran Patel were excited to be able to help support Florida Hospital in its effort to provide exceptional healthcare to our community. Terry and Lew Smither have been active at the Florida Hospital in North Pinellas in Tarpon Springs from the inception of the Hospital’s involvement there. Scott Childers, vice president/executive director for Florida Hospital West Region Florida Foundation, and Marilyn McPhail, the Hospital’s regional event planner, presented flowers to the evening’s chair and vice chair.
