“City Rain” is one of 70 pieces of Scott’s work that is displayed in the common areas of Signature Place in downtown St. Petersburg. This three-panel piece was created specifically for a Longboat Key home. Scott claims that he creates his artwork as a means of transcending normal physical planes. To do so, he makes glass-like images that reflect and refract transient light, color and opaqueness using spheres, cubes, pyramids and other natural shapes to construct his complex personal views. His work draws the viewer into his interesting color planes that seem to have been stopped in the midst of an ebb and flow that is natural, yet unpredictable. The multiple layers of each piece captivate the eye with their profound underlying design. For nearly 20 years, Scott has pioneered this type of digital creativity to produce fine art. During the course of his career, he has worked with many interior designers to create new pieces for their clients. He is able to customize his art works by altering size and color to make each piece the perfect fit for its intended environment. Scott can even digitally incorporate his artwork into a photograph of a space, so that it can be Scott Menaul creates abstract works of art that invoke thoughts of surrealism. viewed as it will look once it has been actually hung in place. This is essential, since his work tends to become part of the spatial relationship of a room’s architecture. His digital previews are particularly important for large-scale pieces that would be difficult to transport and install. Scott Menaul is not only creative. He is practical as well. 9 EDITOR’S NOTE: Scott Menaul can be contacted at his gallery, Menaul Fine Art, at 1750 North Hercules Avenue in Clearwater, (727) 726-7411.
