Since then, Jim has retired from public life and has returned to his first love, art, as a sculptor. His gallery and studio are located at 1350 North Fort Harrison Avenue in Clearwater, where he creates spectacular bronzes. 10 YEARS AGO - November/December 2006 The creative cover was painted by Clearwater artist Jim Warren. This 5,000 square-foot, Tuscan-style villa, which won a Grand Aurora Award for Windstar Homes, melded 21st century amenities with old-world charm. Windstar used unparalleled craftsmanship and top-quality components to create this palatial estate that overlooks the Bayou Club golf course. Windstar Homes is still one of the premier custom residence builders. NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016 | TAMPA BAY MAGAZINE 97 This cover, created by the late T.W. Curtis, was instrumental in influencing us to feature art by local artists on our covers. Jim Smith’s personality was captured by Tampa Bay Magazine’s famed photographer Noraa. This Italian-style villa was custom built by Windstar Homes.
