Peter and Susan Betzer were sponsors of the gala, as Susan is a member of the orchestra’s board of directors and chair of its artistic committee. Betty Sembler and her husband Mel were platinum sponsors of the gala, as they believe strongly in the orchestra’s value to the community. Jim and Suzanne MacDougald gave their support to the orchestra by being platinum sponsors for this event that raised funds for the orchestra. Greg Yadley, co-vice chair of the orchestra and a member of its executive committee, and his wife Anne, a member of its board of consultants, served on the gala committee. Jim Gillespie, co-vice chair of the orchestra, and his wife Emily, an active member of the orchestra’s guild, were gold level sponsors of the gala. Ernie Lisi and his wife Judy, the president and CEO of the Straz Center in Tampa, were happy to visit the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. Fred and Aleta Fisher were individual supporters of this gala that helped to raise the funds that the orchestra needs to continue its service to the community. Artist Chris Frederick and her husband Wally Pope have been orchestra supporters for decades and have encouraged its growth and expansion.
