NEWS ORRA housing initiative receives county kudos Heroes’ Commons at Jefferson Park is recognized for its efforts to redevelop historic Parramore neighborhood The Orlando Regional REALTOR® Foundation has been honored with an Award of Excellence from the 2016 Orange County Sustainable Development Awards. The foundation is the charitable arm of the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association and works to address the area’s critical need for affordable, workforce housing. The county accolade recognizes the foundation’s Heroes’ Commons at Jefferson Park housing initiative. Upon completion, the initiative will provide six mortgage-free homes, located in a redeveloped section of the Parramore area in downtown Orlando, to local veterans and their families. “The Orlando Regional REALTOR® Foundation is committed to creating homeownership Orlando Regional REALTOR® Foundation President Kathleen Gallagher McIver and ORRA President Bruce Elliott opportunities for veterans, in addition to the first responders, educators, and others who form the backbone of the Central Florida workforce,” says Orlando REALTOR® and Orlando Regional REALTOR® Foundation Chairman Kathleen Gallagher McIver, RE/MAX Central Realty. “We can never repay our military men and women and their families for their sacrifice and service to our country, but we hope that the gift of homeownership through the Heroes’ Commons at Jefferson Park initiative can be a small token of our appreciation.” Nominations open for 2018 ORRA leadership Serve your association, your profession, and industry through an elected seat on the BOD Here’s your chance to help guide the direction of ORRA in 2018! The ORRA Board of Directors will soon be accepting applications for 2018 elected leadership positions, including: • president-elect; • treasurer; • secretary; and • director/s (number to be determined by a vote of the membership on proposed bylaw changes, May 24). Potential candidates must submit a consent-to-serve form, which will be made available on the ORRA website. Consent-to-serve forms of qualified candidates are made available for public viewing on the ORRA website. Forms must be returned on or before 5:00 pm on July 1, 2017 for review by an ORRA committee. The committee will conduct personal interviews of each candidate who meets qualification requirements on July 26, 2017. Contact Supra directly for relief Don’t leave an inspector hanging around outside your listing... know the Call Before Showing (CBS) code for each of your Supra lockboxes! ORRA policy prevents the association from providing Call Before Showing codes to anyone. This policy includes both lockbox owners and those wishing to enter a listing. Lockbox owners who do not know or remember their code can retrieve them by visiting SupraWeb and logging into your account. You will need the serial number of your lockbox and the shackle code.
