Rio Tinto 303P Conveyor Belt Repair Report – 19 July 2016 �� Overview: CoBond Material Solutions (CoBond) has been engaged to supply its conveyor belt repair materials for use in repairing the skirt damage to the 303P feeder conveyor belt at Rio Tinto’s Parker Point facility in WA. The skirt damage (approximately 150mm in from the edge) is to the entire length of the conveyor belt, approximately 55 metres in length. The repair will be completed in a number of stages (6-7) as there is only access to approximately 8-10 metres of belt for repairing. Below is an overview and images of the repairs undertaken, which have been completed by Convatech’s on-site maintenance team, using CoBond’s Qik Fix repair products. Repair: Skirt Damage to the Feeder Conveyor Belt Location: 303P Conveyor Belt Length: 55 metres Material: Qik Fix (30 minute cure time) and Primer No.6 Applicator: Pneumatic Caulking Gun Repairs: Two beltman Timing: 2-3 hours The entire belt was repaired using the process in the images below: Skirt damage for repair Step 1 - Repair prepared (skived out)
