CREATING YOUR BLOCK M N Repeat steps H-M for the remaining appliqué fabrics. O P Using a ruler and rotary cutter, trim around the design leaving 1” of fabric for seam allowance. To create the ragged edge technique around the outside of the block, your fleece fabric will have a 1” seam allowance, while your base fabric will have a 1⁄2” seam allowance. Q R Repeating the ragged edge process, create a ragged edge along the seam allowance of each appliqué. Next, remove the basting stitches using a seam ripper. This will allow you to create a ragged edge around the appliqué design. Once your design has completed the appliqué and embroidery steps, remove it from the hoop. Next, use your scissors to create a ragged edge on the fleece and base fabric. We clipped approximately every 1⁄2”. RAGGED EDGE APPLIQUÉ QUILT | Mix & Match Collection | 97
