WAIST APRON Recipe M. N. 166 P. Press the opening in your apron where we turned the pocket right-side out. At this point, use hem tape or Steam-a-Seam to help hold the pocket opening closed. O. Using a walking foot, starting from the side of the pocket carefully top stitch pocket in place ⅛" from pocket edge. Sew the sides and bottom making sure you leave the top of the pocket open. Remove pins as you go. Q. Now you will need to make your apron ties. Fold your 3" x 29" fabric pieces in half with right-sides together. Take your apron base fabric, lay it right-side up with your lined pockets right-side up. Set the pocket piece 2" from the bottom and 2" from the sides. Pin it in place. Once the apron pocket is top stitched on the sides and bottom, go back and stitch in the ditch to make three individual pockets. Set this aside. R. Sew leaving a ½" seam allowance from the raw edges along one short side and along length of the tie, leaving the other short side open. Clip the corner and trim the short side to ¼" seam allowance.
