ACCESS / Quilting Once the main elements are aligned perfectly, sew the entire seam again with a regular stitch length. Use pins to hold the block together. You may need to stretch or ease the un-stitched sections as you sew the remainder of the seam. Remember to use a ½” seam allowance and stitch just to the inside of the tack down line. If you sew too far into the seam allowance you will lose part of the design in the seam allowance and things will not line up correctly. Once the seam is finished, press your seam allowance open with a Laura Star Iron. Your first two blocks should look something like this.
