FEATURE the mud pit. There is plenty of coastline here to set up a shade and kick your feet up on the cooler to watch the chaos from camp. This is the best place to be able to film the action while still being able to flip burgers on the grill with a box fan behind you while your wife nags to hurry up and finish cooking so you can go back out to the middle again. We got a bit of rain that came through  Friday, and while it cooled everyone off it also started making the roads a little slippery. This is where we separate the men from the boys. Boys will complain about mud at a Mudfest, men will unload their buggy on the side of the road and pull their truck into the camping area. Sometimes in life the only thing we have control over is our reaction to unforeseen events, and I saw a lot of happy people pulling their rigs through the gate and a few unhappy people that just couldn’t get with the program. Everyone in our group made it to camp even with the roads being stirred up a bit and we continued to party until late into the night. While I’m talking about the roads another great advantage Okeechobee Mudfest has with that giant mud hole is there is never any traffic. Most folks drive from camp out to the middle of the hole, and back to camp instead of only having one or two spots to enter the mud hole. This makes traffic a whole lot lighter down the main roads.         Saturday morning was no different than Friday was. Trucks and buggies were ripping it up as dawn broke. There were quite a few legends out there capturing the mudslinging. Wibada photo was gracious as always and a treat to hang out with. The man himself Mr. Mark Manning was out there representing Big Bend Boggers and he was camped with Bam Bam in the Kracker Truck. We haven’t seen him in a while and he still drives the hell out of that truck. I would have 16
