On September 8, 2018, our beloved Chandra was
called home by the Lord to take her resting place,
completing her sixty year journey with us here on
earth.
Chandra Danette Netters, affectionately called
Chan, was born on September 21, 1957 to James
L. Netters, Sr. and the late Leona Mae Netters.
She was the youngest of three children. At an
early age, she made a decision to accept Christ as
her personal Lord and Savior, and became and
remained a dedicated and devoted member of Mt.
Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of
her father, Rev. James L. Netters.
Chandra graduated from George Washington
Carver High School in Memphis, Tennessee,
Class of 75. She met a talented young man by
the name of Ralph Lofton, and they were united
in Holy matrimony in 1976. To this union, two
beautiful and gifted sons were born: RaShun
and Deon.
With such a fashionable and stylish mother as an
-
fashion and design. She worked and successfully
-
managed the women’s retail clothing and cosmetics
department of Goldsmith’s/Macys for many years,
as well as designed many beautiful home interiors.
-
Chandra took pride in her work as she was
successful in a diverse career portfolio, working at
top fortune companies in Memphis like Bellsouth
and Brothers Computers and Technology, to Fedex
staff. Chandra remained a faithful member of Mt.
Vernon Baptist Church - Westwood all of her life
until her passing.
She was a member of the September Birth Month
Ministry, Camp Care Outreach Ministry, and the
Mass Choir. And, Oh, how she loved supporting
the young church members especially the youth
and young adult choir.
Chandra enjoyed and loved her family and life
itself. She lived life to the absolute fullest,
and loved having fun, always enjoying a good
party. Chandra loved planning parties, especially
birthday parties, or just about any kind of
celebratory occasion. She was an absolute loyal
friend to many during her lifetime that were
blessed to call her friend. More importantly,
Chan always loved keeping all kinds of people
from every walk of life connected to each other.
She had that kind of spirit, and it will surely be
missed.
Chandra leaves to cherish her memories her
endearing father and step-mother, Dr. James L.
and Nedia Netters; two loving sons, RaShun
Netters Lofton and Deon Netters Lofton
(Philandra); sister, Edwina Netters; brother,
Rev. James L. Netters, Jr. (Linda); three
grandchildren, Jalon Netters Lofton, Bria
Johnson Lofton and Kody Lofton; niece, Kym
Netters Murphy (Ryan); two nephews, James L.
Netters III and Julian P. Netters, Sr. (Chantay),
a host of more nieces, nephews, cousins, friends,
and a loving church family.
Lord, with those who contend with me; fight
against those who fight against me. Take up
shield and armor; arise and come to my aid.
Draw out also the spear, and stop the way
against them who persecute me. Say to me,
“I am your salvation.” Psalm 35:1-3 NIV
