PENSACOLA MAGAZINE | 23 Tasteful Tours of PENSACOLA That is exactly what you’ll find in Go Retro’s new Tasting Tours: a unique blend of our city’s history and culture that meets mouth-watering cuisine from 14 of the best places to dine in Downtown Pensacola. This is the first time Pensacola has seen such tours, which have grown in popularity and prominence in other foodie meccas of the U.S. like New Orleans and Chicago, and we have only to thank the combined efforts of Go Retro and tour guide Hunter May—whose knowledge of good food stems from years of traveling and “eating” her way through North America, Europe and Mexico. The bottom line: no matter how picky your palate, your taste buds will thank you for attending any one of these tasteful tours by Go Retro. Go Retro launched its three variations of Tasting Tours in August, all based on the area in which they take place, including Historic Seville, Palafox and Market Day Gourmet. The Historic Seville and Palafox Tasting Tours run Tuesdays and Thursdays, while Market Day Gourmet tours are available every other Saturday. Each tour can accommodate a max of 16 people, so plan ahead if you’re considering reserving a spot not only for yourself but a handful of your friends and family. “There’s so many great stories and so much good food in Pensacola,” said Hunter May, Go Retro’s trilingual tasting tour guide. “So, we thought, why not put them together?” PALAFOX HISTORIC SEVILLE MARKET DAY GOURMET written by Dawn Gresko photos by Anna Hitchcock
