Life on Himes Briefs STUDENT MEDIA: With the implementation of a Digital Communications course at Jesuit this fall, all aspects of campus student media now fall under the Digital Communications umbrella. This includes JTNN, the Jesuit Tigers News Network, which airs video reports Thursday mornings in homeroom, and a new online incarnation of the student newspaper, JTNN Online. MUSICAL NOTES: Jesuit’s music program, led by Nina Wegmann, hosted its Spring Music Concert, as well as staging its annual performance before the entire student body to open Mission Drive Day. The rousing 45-minute Mission Drive Day show on April 22 featured all elements of Jesuit music, including a powerful arrangement from the drumline, and the Jesuit choir singing the Gaelic classic “Dulaman.” Scan the QR code for a video of the choir’s performance. Scan to view video of the Jesuit choir GENERATIONS OF ‘MEN FOR OTHERS’: In June, Stephen Dawes ’17 and Dr. Steve Negley ’78 took part in a mission trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras as part of a group spearheaded by Negley and the First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven. Among the many ways their contingent engaged itself in the community was through distributing supplies to hospitals and schools. Negley has led numerous mission trips to Honduras. AWARD WINNERS: In April, Bo Gwinner ’17 earned the Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf Leadership Award, one of just fi ve juniors in the county to receive the honor, “in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in keeping with the ideals of the United States Military Academy.” Chandler Rodriguez ’17 received the Anne Frank Humanitarian Award from the Florida Holocaust Museum, for “bettering the lives of others.” Jesuit distributed dozens of awards to its top students of 2015-16 at Awards Night, scan the QR code to view the recipients. The show starred Jacob Zelen ’16 and Kyle Cansler ’16, and also featured Austin Hernandez ’16, Vito Holmes ’16, John Hentschel ’16, Paul Consalvo ’16, Hunter Ratchford ’16, Sam Lauro ’16, Lucas Pasquier ’17, Noah Armenia ’17, Dalton Hoff man ’17, Alex Pena ’18, Jack Mahoney ’18, Victor Cogdill ’18, Daniel Villavicencio ’18, and J.P.
