I don’t know what resolutions you made and where you stand with them, but there are days when I struggle with mine. I want to stay positive this year and it’s not always easy. Last year was one of stress and negativity, with the political election and the bad things that were happening all over the world, and right here in this country. I am going to stay focused on the positive, and that starts with me. Instead of dwelling on the negative and worrying about what is going to happen, I will keep it “light” and just appreciate the little things, along with all that I have. We are truly blessed to be able to spend this winter in the land of sunshine and mild temperatures. Th ere are so many things to see and do here that we should never fi nd ourselves bored or isolated. Pigs in Zhills is being held on January 21st. If you are a fan of great music and BBQ, this is the event for you! On the 28th is the Kumquat Festival in Dade City. If you have never been, it is truly something to see. You can not even imagine what can be done with kumquats until you have experienced this festival! February 23rd kicks off the Winter Car Fest, as well as the Crab and Shrimp Festival in Hudson. Take a look online to see schedules for all these wonderful events and start making your plans! If crowds are not your thing, there are a lot of other activities like canoe and kayak rentals allowing you to enjoy a scenic tour of Hillsborough State Park. Looking to fi nd that special treasure? Head to Big Top of Patriot Flea Market for that special deal! You can always spend the afternoon at Zephyr Park and have a nice relaxing picnic by the water. Take a drive over to Skydive City and watch the skydivers, or right up the road you can take a ride in a glider over Zephyrhills. No matter what you do, stay active and positive. Who knows?
