Community Engagement Programs Community engagement and education are the soul of The Florida Orchestra’s service to our community. Establishing a personal connection in and outside of the concert hall is essential to making a difference in lives through the power of live music. TFO educates, engages, and builds awareness through its varied community engagement programs, reaching more than 80,000 people each season, of all ages, throughout Tampa Bay. Pops in the Park Concerts These are more than an outdoor concert – they are a classy yet cool event that families look forward to every season. And, what better way to serve our community than giving a free concert under the stars? TFO on the Go (NEW) At the beginning of the 2016/2017 season, TFO performed 17 free, public chamber music concerts at locations throughout Tampa Bay. From hospitals to the local Boys & Girls Club to breweries, the program reached over 5,000 people in the community. Youth Concerts One of TFO’s highest priorities is education. Teaching schoolchildren to love music through concerts designed for them creates orchestra fans as well as future musicians. A variety of youth concerts serve more than 21,600 students in our tri-county area each season including: interactive Link Up concerts for students grades 3-5 with curriculum from Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute; Steinbrenner Children’s Holiday Concerts for elementary, at-risk students; and free tickets to Coffee Concerts for secondary school students.
