WHAT IS MIX AND MATCH QUILTING? If you are new to embroidery, or have never created a quilt, then the quilts in the Mix & Match collections are for you! We removed all of the difficulty of traditional quilting by creating these quilts in the hoop. If you are a traditional quilter, you will be able to create a quilt twice as fast! There are three things that make these quilts unique: you will save fabric, you won’t need to measure and you no longer have to center your embroidery designs on your quilt block. There are well over 50 different Mix & Match quilting collections in the Anita Goodesign library and the best part about them is that they all go together! The blocks, borders and sashing pieces all follow the same size guidelines so that you can mix blocks from different collections and combine them into one project. Each of the collections are offered in different sizes so that even if you only have a 5” x 7” hoop, you can still stitch all of the designs in the collections. Below we list some of the reasons why Mix & Match quilting will become your new favorite quilting style. CREATING EMBROIDERED QUILTS USED TO INVOLVE NUMEROUS STEPS: 1. Choosing a pattern 2. Choosing fabric 3. Measuring your pattern 4. Cutting your fabric into pieces using multiple tools 5. Centering your embroidery design 6. Stitching your embroidery design without puckering your fabric 7. Cutting your fabric again to center your design 8. Piecing the fabric together 9. Measuring and cutting your borders and sashing blocks 10. Adding batting to your quilt top 11. Adding quilt stitches or stippling 12. Finishing your quilt WE HAVE MADE IT EASIER! NO MORE WASTING FABRIC NO MORE MEASURING Traditional embroidered quilts required you to hoop a large piece of fabric. With the Anita Goodesign technique, you only need to hoop a piece of stabilizer. All borders and sashing blocks are sized perfectly. The blocks will always fit together in any order.
