A W O R D F R O M O U R D I R E C T O R Author, salesman and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar once wrote, “You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” Is our cultural arts program great? Is it good, fair or poor? Only you can answer that question and that is why I invite you to participate in evaluating our program by completing an online survey. Take a few minutes after the show to tell us how we are doing and how we can serve you better. Your feedback helps us understand what types of performances you’d like to attend. In prior focus groups with audience and non-audience members, we learned that there was strong interest in country music performances. “Live From Nashville” and Lorrie Morgan & Pam Tillis were well-received by our community. Responding to our survey helps make your experience better. We have addressed some sound concerns by installing the Starkey hearing aid equipment in the Wildstein Center for the Performing Arts and we have made adjustments to the sound mix for performances. This summer we plan to conduct an acoustic survey and resolve issues in an effort to improve sound quality. Because we have a small marketing budget, it is important that we spend our dollars wisely. Where to spend those dollars is not based on hunches, but on the information that you provide. This valuable data informs us how to reach new customers. Finally, organizations that provide grants and sponsorships often ask for statistics and other documented information. Surveys are a straightforward tool that can answer questions for our funders. We want to be great. We want to create the best experience for you, so tell us what we do well and what we can do better at www.sfscarts.org/survey. y p , My pleasure, always, Cindy Garren – Director Cultu MFA Director, Cultural Programs
