You’ll find a swimming pool, the J.M. Berlin/Rotary Skate Park park, basketball courts, tennis courts, cricket courts and nature trails. The football fields are home to the area’s Pop Warner teams. There is a boardwalk, picnic shelter, a kayak/ canoe launch and a playground. Insider Tip: The dog park is a very popular spot for pets and their owners. The gymnasium was recently renovated and draws many for basketball. There is also a popular pickleball league and a busy playground. Adult classes include yoga, Zumba and tennis clinics. Many area civic groups call Tringali home and people flock to the community yard sales. �� CEDAR POINT ENVIRONMENTAL PARK 2300 Placida Road 941-475-0769 www.checflorida.org At this 115-acre park sitting on Lemon Bay, you’ll find pine flatwoods, salt marshes and mangroves. Bring your binoculars as you follow the trails. You might see gopher tortoises, shore birds and the resident bald eagles. Call for information about the guided nature walks and seagrass exploration trips. There’s also a visitor center where you can find literature and displays on the area’s ecosystem and an active beehive with honey for sale. �� LEMON BAY PARK AND ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER 570 Bay Park Blvd. 941-861-5000 www.scgov.net/Parks In Sarasota County, Lemon Bay Park is a scenic 200-acre spot where you can take a guided nature tour or an evening star walk. Sit in the butterfly garden and visit the nature pavilion. The picnic tables, pavilion and grills make this a popular picnic spot. There is a canoe & kayak launch and excellent fishing opportunities. The amphitheater is a meeting place for many community groups. ����INDIAN MOUND PARK 210 Winson Ave. 941-861-5000 www.scgov.net/Parks Indian Mound Park is named for the Native American Indian mound on the 10- acre site. It is one of the busiest public boat launches in the area, and on any weekend day the parking lot will be crowded. While you won’t find many swimmers, you will see people fishing out on Lemon Bay, walking the trail or enjoying a picnic lunch.
