Still Growing Strong As you travel along Chancey Road in Zephyrhills there is the familiar farm stand on the side of the road where you’ll see printed on the roof of the building: JR FARMS. One of our few local farmers serving the community, Junior “JR” Holman says that he is part of a dying breed. JR, as he is known in the community, is the only sibling that followed in his father’s footsteps, farming for over 35 years, a proud veteran, earning 2 Purple Hearts defending our country. With over 40 acres of farmland, vegetables are picked fresh daily. A popular spot for snowbirds and locals, JR Farms offers a wide variety of vegetables and fruits in season. Right now, JR Farms is taking orders for his blackeyed peas, conks, zippers, ford hook limas, speckled butter beans and baby limas. Get your order in early!
