Houchens Center 29 1115 Adams Street • 270.842.6761 Eloise B Houchens Center on Facebook Built in 1904 by onetime Mayor Francis Kister, this Greek Revival home in downtown Bowling Green has beautiful inlaid wood fl ooring, carved fi replaces and mantles, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the house serves as a cultural and educational community center and offers an annual Trees of Christmas display. Open for tours Mon., Wed. & Fri. 10am- 2pm and by appointment. St. Joseph Catholic Church 22 434 Church Street • 270.842.2525 • stjosephbg.org This church at the heart of the St. Joseph Historic District was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 because of its artistic and historic signifi cance. The Gothic style structure was constructed in three stages over a 30-year period, being dedicated fi nally in 1889, and is said to be inspired by the cathedral church of Cologne, Germany. Fountain Square Park 36 Between Main Avenue, Park Row, College and State Streets Dedicated in 1872, this enchanting green space was originally the town square and site of parades, protests, pageants and more. Lined by beautifully restored historic buildings, Fountain Square is a vibrant destination again, making the park a perfect spot for watching the world go by or snapping a great shot. 1921 Standard Oil Station 32 Corner of College Street and 7th Avenue One of Bowling Green’s fi rst fi lling stations along what was known as the Dixie Highway is now an award-winning preservation project.
