NO COMMERCIAL WASTE WILL BE ACCEPTED. Currituck County residents and property owners ONLY. Proof of residency required. Centers are open Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Centers are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Accepted: normal household waste, white goods, used oil, bulky items, auto tires 20” and less off the rim, lead acid batteries, brush, leaves, limbs, antifreeze and all recyclable materials. Not accepted: commercial or industrial waste, liquid waste, hazardous waste, or tires larger than 20”. NO WASTE FROM OUTSIDE CURRITUCK COUNTY. If you are interested in curbside pickup, there are a few companies providing that service for a small monthly fee.
