On St. Patrick’s Day, while some of you were drinking green beer in celebration, April and I were watching a crew of firefighters trying their best not to let our house burn down to the ground. After the flames were long gone, we were allowed to walk through the remnants of our material life. The optimist in me thought I could save everything. The reality is that I could not. Either way, one thing stood true. I never worried too much because I am a Tybee Girl. And for as long as I’ve been living, we’ve always taken care of our own; it’s just what we do. With that being said, next came a river of kindness, generosity, and positivity. Money, furniture, and even a benefit were given to my family and me without ever having to ask. Words cannot express the gratitude that we owe to each and every one of you. That’s why I’m saying it here, for the whole world to see. THANK YOU, TYBEE!!! FROM APRIL and ME, CARRIE, and MY FAMILY!!
