NAUI Master Scuba Diver 158 Decompression and Recompression maximum rate of descent is 23 m/min (75 ft/min), and the maximum rate of ascent is 9 m/min (30 ft/min) to conform with the latest U.S. Navy dive tables. The depth of decompression stops should be at the level of the mouth. NAUI also endorses the use of DCIEM and Buhlmann dive tables. As a NAUI Master Scuba Diver you should be able to correctly calculate repetitive no-required-stop dives using the NAUI Dive Tables (figure 5-10). You should be able to: 1. Determine the correct repetitive group designation for any single or repetitive dive schedule possible with the NAUI Dive Tables. 2. Correctly calculate the Adjusted Maximum Dive Time (AMDT) for a repetitive dive. For example, calculate that the AMDT for a Group “E” diver planning a dive to a depth of 21 m (70 ft) is 19 minutes. 3. Correctly calculate the minimum surface interval required to make a repetitive dive of a given duration that does not exceed the maximum time limit. For example, find that the minimum surface 0 10 120 40 0 25 50 75 100 125 150 175 MSW FSW 5 16 5 20 80 10 33 15 49 Pressure 20 66 25 82 30 99 Elapsed Time (Minutes) FIGURE 5-9.
