Our State Park Explore The Shore . . . Pomme de Terre State Park offers a little bit of everything and includes two location on Pomme de Terre Lake. The Hermitage and Pittsburg Areas each provide opportunities for camping, ���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� Overnight Accommodations The park offers more than 240 campsites, ranging from basic to electric/water sites, all of which can be reserved. Both area campgrounds feature hot showers, modern restrooms, laundry facilities, playground facilities and dumping stations. Don’t have an RV or tent? The park offers options for you as well. For all the comforts of home, stay in the secluded, wood-framed lake house on the Hermitage side. The three bedroom lake house has everything you need, just bring your groceries. For stunning views and access to the water, take a short stroll through the back yard to the lake. Two yurts provide alternative lodging options on the Pittsburg side. Yurts are circular, wood-framed structures covered with fabric, much like a tent, but are strong and weather tight. Each yurt sits on a wooden platform with decking and has a locking door. Each has a fantastic view of the lake. The yurts do not have running water, and guests must bring their own linens or sleeping bags. Both lodging options are available for rental year round. Other Amenities In addition to camping and lodging, each side of the park offers hiking trails, public swimming beaches, boat ramps, amphitheaters and picnic areas. On most weekends during the summer, programs and activities are conducted throughout the park. 4 Hermitage Area The Hermitage Area campground provides an ideal setting for a family outing with electric and basic campsites, many close to the water, in a grassy setting with scattered large shade ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ the lake. The park store located in the Hermitage Area campground is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend. Available at the campground store are ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ and souvenir merchandise. For the nature enthusiast, the 1.8 mile Cedar Bluff Trail follows rocky bluffs along and upland ridge between the beach and campground. The trail offers scenic views of the lake and an opportunity to get a glimpse of deer, turkey, fox and several species of birds. Pittsburg Area On the Pittsburg Area, the campground provides plenty of shade with electric/water, electric, and basic campsites that overlook rock bluffs and others that slope to the water’s edge. This area offers guests the open shelter house with an adjacent playground, two boat launches and a swimming beach. A full service, concessionaire operated marina is also located in the Pittsburg Area. The Indian Point trail is a 3.3-mile path that meanders through open woodlands to a scenic, rock platform overlooking the lake.
