Recently, I discovered a jewel of a store in Dobson that had everything this farm owner could need! In the spring of 2013, Sherry and Trevor Johnson were looking for storage space. They came across the property at 7802 NC 268, Dobson, NC 27017. The building was mostly open; except for ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������ They purchased the property, and slowly over the years Farmer’s Mulch & Rock Incorporated evolved into the booming business it is today. In the beginning, they offered mulch, because someone asked for it. Today, they offer OVER 60 varieties of bulk dyed and natural mulch options. Their baskets of decorative stone options are unprecedented and come from all over the world. Their selection of rock ranges from sandbox sand to recycled red brick to the exotic Sunset Lava rock to the larger Smokey Mountain Creek rocks. If you have a DIY project that requires mulch or rock, they have exactly what you want/need! And, if you are just looking for inspiration, I suggest you just walk around and get inspired! Oh, I must point out, that when they say a “scoop,” they mean a full scoop! Since relocating to NC, I noticed over the years that many people ask for pool water to be delivered. I found out that the local ���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������� water you can just ask Farmer’s Mulch & Rock. They deliver pool water all fresh, clear, clean, and ready to use. No more waiting days and days to have your pool ready! Besides a hardware section 75% larger than before the remodeling (because they opened the entire back space to add more inventory), they now have a huge selection of antiques (almost half the back room). Because of this, I noticed more couples shopping than ever before. Oh, and they still have their large selection of feed (horse, hog, cattle, goat, dog & cat) & seed (they carry endophytefree Kentucky 32), tools (SKIL, BOSCH, Black & Decker, etc.), and chemicals to tackle any issue. As a born and raised farm girl, I know you are wondering about the toys! Yes, they still have a room full of all your favorite color toys (John Deere green, Massey Ferguson & CASE IH red, and New Holland blue just to name a few). They stay open late and open early when a customer has an emergency. They offer heavy freight shipping and receiving for items too heavy to handle at your place.
