111 Steps The next machine step will tack your folded fabric in place. Take your first piece of fabric and lay it right-side down along the placement stitch, overlapping by 1/4”. Fold the fabric towards the exterior of the design. Repeat steps R-V to create the second border. Run the folding stitch for the folded fabric border. Next, trim the excess fabric from the sides of your borders. We do this so that the foot of our embroidery machine doesn’t get caught up in the excess fabric. TIP S T U V W X 1 1 2 1 2
