118 Steps Open the towel and gently press onto the adhesive of the stabilizer so that it remains centered and doesn’t move around while stitching. Run the placement stitch for your first raw edge appliqué. The next machine step will be a basting stitch that will further hold your towel in place. Your remaining design will happen inside of these basting stitches. Lay your fabric face up, completely covering the placement stitches. Tack the fabric in place. Fold your towel in half, right sides together, and align the folded edge of the towel with the center of the placement stitch.
