1960s The Sixties were a period of social movements for topics such as Civil Rights, Hispanic and Chicano, Feminism, and Anti-War. It was a time for social change on all fronts, as well as progressions in technology with the Space Race going on between the United States and the Soviet Union. While the music scene was full of pop artists during this time, a lot of musicians were speaking out on socially political topics of the times.
