1970s With social movements from the Sixties still going strong, the Seventies were a decade of pivotal change. Female leadership was growing with the rise of a female President in Argentina, as well as the first female Prime Minister in England. It was coined the “Me” Decade based on the change in personalities - “remaking, remodeling, elevating, and polishing one’s self… and observing, studying, and doting on it.”
