Last summer in Rio de Janeiro, Johnson attained the dream of every young athlete who competes in the Sunshine State Games, an Olympic Gold Medal. Her 51 saves in the Olympic Games were instrumental in the undefeated run of six wins en route to the gold medal. She began playing with Coach Carroll Vaughn and the Riptides at age 9 and continued through college, playing in the Women’s Open Division. From her humble beginnings at Cutler Ridge Park, Johnson has traveled the world and reached the pinnacle of her sports. Look for her again in 2020 at the Tokyo Olympic Games or around swimming pools in South Florida.
