HEATHLAND - 7 - The prevailing wind at the fi rst hole adds to the diffi culty of carrying the tee shot to the plateaued fairway. The carry is shorter if the drive is placed to the right. Take note of the pin position, as the green is large. A short par 4 which doglegs sharply to the right around a knob which hides the green. Proper judgement of the length of pitch to the green is essential or the putting will be diffi cult. Green depth 22 yds. width 42 yds. Tee shot should be played out to the right. The greenside bunkers to the left are especially severe. 4__ P_a_r_ 4 355 338 315 285 A diffi cult par 3, playing slightly uphill over an undulating bowl of a fairway. Pin placement is key. This hole is loosely modeled after a par 3 at Cruden Bay, Scotland. 374
