11 steps STITCHING DOODLE BLOCKS a b Place a piece of batting over top of the squaring stitch. Be sure to completely cover all four sides. Heirloom Christmas | 2017 Q3 Workshop DOODLE BLOCK-1 and DOODLE BLOCK-2 are created the same way. To start, hoop a piece of No-Show Mesh stabilizer and run step 1 of the design. This is your squaring stitch showing where to place your batting. c d Step 2 will be the tack down stitch, securing your batting to your stabilizer. e f Next, place your base fabric over top of the tack down stitches, making sure the fabric extends by 1/2” on all 4 sides. Using scissors, trim away the excess batting from the tack down stitches. Step 3 of the design will be the tack down stitch for your base fabric. Then, run the final embroidery step which will be the doodle design of the block.
