steps CREATING THE TOWEL TIP a b To begin creating your towel, cut two pieces of fabric 22.0” x 32.0”. One piece will be used for the front of the towel and where you will embroider the design. The other piece of fabric can be placed to side and will be used when adding the backing to your towel at the end of the tutorial. c d Unfold the fabric with pins facing up. The pins should now line the center of your fabric. Now, using a ruler, measure 2.0” up from the bottom edge of fabric. Mark with a pin where 2.0” crosses with the center pin line. This pin will mark the bottom center of your design. e f Place the template on top of the towel fabric, lining the bottom center of template with the pin placed in step ‘C’. Also, insert a pin in the center of your design as shown with solid circle. This will be used to center fabric in embroidery hoop. 36 anitagoodesignonline.com Lay your front fabric and fold in half long ways, with wrong sides together. Place pins along the center edge as shown. Using your embroidery software, print the template for the design you have chosen. Be sure to print template to actual size for accurate placement. Trim off excess paper from the template design. Every design print out will have a center point or cross-hairs. Use a pen to darken center point and the vertical center line of the template as shown.
