A LETTER FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR We live in extraordinary times. And in extraordinary times, we turn to the theatre to explore together the very special circumstance of being human. We look to the theatre sometimes for comfort, and at other times for provocation. We sometimes look to the theatre for beauty, while at other times we look to the theatre to make sense of the ugly. And in this shared journey, we laugh together, cry together, gasp together…and lean in together. The 2017-18 season marks Actor’s Express’ 30th anniversary. Reaching this kind of remarkable milestone demands that we rededicate ourselves to our community-driven mission of creating an inclusive space in which diverse people can gather together for powerful, shared experiences. And when we started planning the new season, it was very important to us that we select work that challenges and inspires – offering new ways of exploring the experience of being alive right now. We promise that every AE production will offer a unique experience that will grab at your heart and stir your soul. We’ve been doing that for 30 years.
