at a pond Mark built on his family land for his mother back in the 90s. “I was concerned about her crossing the road by herself, which she was doing to get to a pond to fish. She loved fishing.” With the support of people and businesses in the community, the event brought about a hundred people together last year with even more expected at this year’s event. “The whole reason for the fishing event is to give parents and grandparents the opportunity to participate in an activity in nature with their child,” said Lisa. It was a catfish weighing in at 4 lbs. 5 oz. Cason Thompson of Cedar Crossing won the prize for the most fish caught with a total of 75.
