Art and Electric Combine to Spruce Up the Shore Landscape In 2012 a movement started in Atlantic City by the Atlantic City Arts Commission to transform over 100 electrical boxes around the city into works of art. A collaboration of Art Advocacy groups, township officials, Mayors offices and local artists of all ages were excited to have their art displayed around town and start working on this project. The scenes on the Atlantic City boxes were varied in nature and inspired by the diversity of the city. As other beach towns saw how beautiful the boxes were, they jumped on board to turn their own boxes into art. The towns of Ocean City, Ventnor and Wildwood opted for beach inspired themes. Some of these boxes actually have a 3D affect with a painting that wraps around the whole box. Although this project has been going on for over 5 years now, I see more and more popping up at every shore town I visit and they are really something special.
