Get there early to lock down a great spot to watch the bands and floats. The route runs from Broad Avenue South to Third Street South, up to Fifth Avenue South, then east on Fifth Avenue South. The route then turns south on Eighth Street South and marches past Naples City Hall. The parade ends at Eighth Avenue South and Eighth Street South. Free. FRIDAYS Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (ends Aug.4) This program provides free admission for children 12 years old and younger (limit 3 children) who are accompanied by a paying adult. Adult admission is $5 and free for Rookery Bay members. Themes include sea turtles, sharks, manatees and birds. 300 Tower Road, Naples. Visit www.rookerybay.org for more info. Fourth of July Fireworks at Naples Beach - 9 p.m. Get to the beach early. Most fireworks-watchers show up at least an hour early to take in the Naples sunset. The fireworks are shot from a barge 1,000 feet from the Naples Pier, but any spot along the beaches (generally from Lowdermilk Park to south of the Pier) are great seats to a Naples tradition that lasts about 25 minutes. Bring your own chairs and blankets, but leave the sparklers, fireworks and Chinese lanterns at home. Park enforcement is strict and the beaches will be crowded so expect a wait in heavy traffic on your trip back home. Free. Call 239.213.1000 for information.
