STITCHING HOOP CLOCK DESIGNS APPLIQUÉ TECHNIQUE A B Place a piece of batting over the top of the placement stitches, completely covering all the way around. C D Trim the excess batting as close to the tack down stitches as possible on the outside of the large circle and inside of the center small circle. Note: the small center circle located in every hoop clock design is the marking stitch showing you where to remove the batting as well. E F In order to create a hoop clock design with multiple appliqués, run the next machine step of the design. This is the placement stitch for your first piece of appliqué fabric. To start, hoop a piece of tear-away stabilizer and stitch step 1 of the design. This is the placement stitch showing you where to place a piece of batting. Step 2 of the design will be the tack down stitch for the batting. This is an example of how the batting should be trimmed away before moving on to the next step.
