STITCHING HOOP CLOCK DESIGNS RADIAL TECHNIQUE I J Once the tack down stitch is complete, trim away the excess fabric from only the inside of the hoop design. K L Using steps E-K on pages 11-12, continue attaching the radial fabrics. Note: be sure to move the first radial fabric out of the way when you reach the 7 o’clock position. This will prevent the first radial fabric from getting caught in the presser foot. Tape in place. Fold your first radial fabric over to the left first. Then, using scissors, trim away excess fabric that is extending 1/2” from the placement line that you stitched in step M. The next machine step will the tack down stitch, securing the second radial fabric in place. The next step will be a bean stitch that will follow along the fold of the radial fabric. M N FIRST RADIAL FABRIC All of the radial fabrics should now be tacked in place, with the exception of the first radial fabric that is taped to the side as shown. The next step will be the placement line, indicated in dotted circle, which will guide you where to place the excess fabric from the first radial fabric. HOOP CLOCKS | Projects Collection | 78
