I would like to sincerely thank you and our benefactors for making it possible for our members to receive devotional materials all free of charge in Nigeria. Despite the economic meltdown, you have remained resolute in working tirelessly to make sure the activities of the ULRA were not in any way disrupted. Please know that our members are praying for you and our benefactors for God’s blessings and protection. My trip to the northern part of Nigeria was successful and I give glory to God. During my stay, one suicide bomber’s attempt failed. The attacker was suspected to be a member of the deadly Islamic sect, Boko Haram. Bombs were wrapped around his waist but he was shot dead before he could detonate them. This happened only a few kilometers from where we were holding our meetings. Many people were afraid to congregate for a religious gathering for fear of being attacked. This made my outreach very difficult. I was forced to stay extra days and wait for army trucks to transport me or ride for hours on a bike to reach the people. It was extremely dangerous! But, one of the greatest challenges was HUNGER! HUNGER!! HUNGER!!! Most people would come out in mass only if they knew you had food items for them. I told them that ours was a religious organization with Sacramentals to share. I explained to them the great need to be close to Our Blessed Mother who would help them fight the battle they face. Finally, I was able to make my trip to Niger to meet with Sister Pat who is the principal of a Catholic School and then on to Aliade where 300 unregistered members waited for their Decade cards and Sacramentals. Thank you for being there for us. May God bless you abundantly! < Michael Adzege - NIGERIA >
