BEFORE YOU BEGIN... Brush Up on All Your Quilting Techniques! Keeping in the theme of “anything goes,” patchwork quilting uses different techniques in the different blocks. As you clean out your scrap box, you will find all sizes of remnants, and will need designs with techniques that utilize various sizes of fabric. The quilt blocks in this collection include embroidery-only y designs that need a large piece of base fabric, folded fabric c border blocks that will need long strips and a base fabric, and d folded fabric base blocks that will use large and small scraps.. Don’t forget about the half-size triangular blocks. Be ready,y, each design is a little different! Go Crazy with Your Fabrics! Patchwork quilting has no rules! Well, almost none. Historically, patchwork was created by quilters when their box of fabric scraps was overflowing. With that in mind, feel free to mix and match your favorite fabrics! Maybe start with a simple print, then onto a busy print, and then settle into a calm solid? Or dig deep in your scraps for a lot of blue fabrics, and then throw in a gold and maybe some greens? Why not pull out pieces of all your favorite fabrics and finally get them together, all in one project! It’s up to you, go crazy! PATCHWORK QUILT BAG | Project | 126
