TYPES OF PATCHWORK BLOCKS There are 3 different types of blocks in the Patchwork Quilt Bag collection: Standard Base Fabric Blocks All of the Standard Base Fabric blocks begin with the same 3 steps, listed below: 1. Placement stitch - place batting 2. Tacking stitch - place base fabric 3. Tacking stitch Once the base fabric is attached, there will be additional steps of decorative embroidery. You will need to refer to your specific design’s numbered steps for those instructions. Folded Fabric Base Blocks The most complex of these is the Folded Fabric Base blocks. The tutorial photos and steps were specifically written to explain the steps of these blocks. Folded Fabric Frame Blocks All of the Folded Fabric Frame blocks begin with the same 16 steps, listed below: 1. Placement stitch - place batting 2. Tacking stitch 3. Placement stitch - place base fabric 4. Tacking stitch 5. Placement stitch - folded fabric 1 6. Folding stitch 7. Tacking stitch 8. Placement stitch - folded fabric 2 9. Folding stitch 10. Tacking stitch 11. Placement stitch - folded fabric 3 12. Folding stitch 13. Tacking stitch 14. Placement stitch - folded fabric 4 15. Folding stitch 16. Tacking stitch Once the frame is finished, the design will then proceed with several decorative embroidery steps.
