QUILT BLOCK Recipe A. B. 126 D. To start, hoop a piece of No-show Mesh stabilizer. Stitch step 1 of the design. This is the squaring stitch. Everything inside these stitches will be seen in the block. Everything outside the placement stitch will be sewn into the seam allowance. C. Stitch step 2 of the design. This is a tacking stitch for the batting. It is slightly inside the placement stitch to allow for trimming. E. F. Place your piece of fabric, right-side up, so it covers and overlaps the placement stitch by ½". Next, place the batting over these stitches. Use tape to hold the batting in place. Trim any excess batting away from the outside of this tacking stitch. This ensures the batting is not in the seam allowance, making the blocks easier to stitch together. Stitch step 3 of the design. This is the placement stitch for the base fabric. Stitch step 4 of the design. This is the tacking stitch that secures the fabric.
