You will repeat these steps for the remaining sides. Remember that each folded fabric piece has three steps. The most common mistake is to ignore the placement stitch. Refer to the Steps on the following page. Q. Use your rotary blade and ruler to trim the quilt block leaving a ½" seam allowance. Trim away the excess fabric from the sides. Do not trim away fabric from the seam allowance side (the outside of the quilt block). The merged design will stitch once the base quilt block has finished. Instructions for merging a design are at the end of this tutorial.
