CASSEROLE HOLDER Recipe G. H. 160 J. Once all blocks have been sewn together and the seams have all been pressed, your holder will look like this. Notice how the folded fabric edges line up along the seams in a chevron pattern. Set these blocks aside. I. Now you will need to make your handles. Take your 4" x 16" fabric pieces and fold each piece in half with wrong sides together, matching up the raw edges. Press the fold. K. Repeat the same sewing steps with your free motion blocks. Your finished free motion blocks should look something like this. Set these blocks aside as well. Your handle will finish as a double fold 1" wide. Using a walking foot and matching thread and bobbin, finish the handles with ⅛" topstitch along opening edge and the folded edge. Next, fold both sides of the raw edges to the inside fold line and press. L. Place your free motion blocks right-side up. Next, place your handles along the top and bottom blocks 2½" from the edge, matching up the raw end of the handle to the raw edge of the block. Pin in place.
