17 Choosing Threads Choosing threads may be one of the most exciting and difficult things to do when starting a project. Here are a few ways we can help when picking out threads for your project: Find Inspiration: Inspiration and reference is all around you! Look at magazine ads, fashion designers, or even furniture ads. We look to our very own artists for inspiration! Once decided, simply pull threads to match the color palette you like best! Be Literal: Some embroidery designs look best stitched out in their true colors. For example, in our collection, Rooster Scenes, we used real photos of roosters to find the perfect threads to match! Fabric Method: If you already have fabric in mind or even a fat quarter bundle, you can match your threads to the colors on your fabrics. This helps bring in a cohesive color palette and will ensure your finished project is perfect.
