35 At every event we teach, we always get questions or concerns about quilt blocks not lining up. This typically pertains to the quilt blocks that are intended to align with each other at certain points, such as tile scenes, landscape and free motion quilt blocks. In these types of collections the design actually continues from one block to the next, so it is essential that they align properly when they are supposed to. The biggest thing we find is that most people start from one seam edge and sew to the next hoping that the points will align where they are supposed to. However lots of things can prevent this from happening, the biggest being that quilt blocks will draw in based on stitch density.
